Many may not know, but boys and men playing softball is growing rapidly. Canada's National Men's fastpitch team is one of the top in the world.
Softball Canada's rules state that after the age of 9, males need to switch to baseball and can no longer play on a "female" team. This leaves many boys who loved playing the game with the only option of playing baseball. Northern communities in Manitoba and other provinces like BC and Ontario have already established male leagues in softball. Softball Manitoba would like the same establishment here and we need to start at the grassroots. We would love the opportunity to start a male league, but it will take time and effort from our WSWYSA community.
